The name Death By Stereo came from the
movie "The Lost Boys" and I think Paul decided
on it. The band was started as something fun to do which
it still is and will remain to be.

IN WHICH BANDS YOU PREVIOUSLY
PLAYED AND HOW MANY MEMBERS YOU CHANGED SINCE DAY 1?

We've had five different guitar players
and three different drummers. We've played in Eyelid,
Clint, Clean X, One Eye Open, and Heckle.

WHY YOU CHANGED THE LABEL AND SIGNED FOR EPITAPH? |
| We decided to switch labels because
Epitaph has better distribution and more opportunities.
We still release all of our vinyl on Indecision so we
really haven't completely left. Dave from Indecision is
a great friend and runs a great label. |
NEW, THIRD ALBUM "INTO THE
VALLEY OF DEATH" IS PRODUCED BY YOUR BASS PLAYER
PAUL. IS THIS HIS FIRST TIME IN PRODUCING? I THINK HE
DID A GREAT JOB.

and he did do a great job. He's been producing and engineering
for years and he keeps getting better and better. |

OF COOPERATION AND ARE YOU PLANNING SOME WORK WITH BAND
TRANSPLANTS? |
We know Rob from when he used to roadie
for AFI. He's a friend of ours and has a great voice.
We are hoping to tour with the Transplants sometime soon.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO PREPARE AND
RECORD YOUR NEW ALBUM AND WERE THERE ANY PROBLEMS DURING
THE RECORDING?

We spent over a year writing and recording
the new record. There were plenty of problems on this
record but we took our time and worked them out.
|
THIS IS A QUESTION THAT I ALWAYS WANTED
TO ASK YOU. IT'S VERY RARE FOR A BAND TO HAVE SUCH LONG
TITLES FOR THEIR SONGS. WHY IS THAT IN YOUR CASE? I READ
ALL THE LYRICS AND YOU, VERY OFTEN, DON'T MENTION THEM
ANYWHERE. WHICH ONE OF YOU GUYS CAME UP WITH THE TITLES
OF THE SONGS?

The long song titles come from Paul's
dad Tom Miner. He's a lyrical genius!!!

Religion, Hulk Hogan, and Michael Jackson.

ANY RESEMBLANCE WITH BOMBING HERE IN SERBIA 4 YEARS AGO?

I don't know enough about the bombing
in Serbia to really answer that question. To tell you
the truth I only know what I see on TV and that probably
doesn't tell the whole story.

| We all work day jobs but our priority
is the band. We are trying to make the band a fulltime
thing for us. |
